How to Tie a Tie in a Victoria Knot

The Victoria Knot is slightly thicker than the Four in Hand knot but very similar.  Try the Victoria Knot with classic shirt collars for best results.

Tying a Victoria Knot

Watch our video tutorial for tying a Victoria Knot or follow the illustrated steps below.

1.  Begin with the wide end of the tie on your right side extending about one foot below the narrow end on your left side.

2.  Cross wide end over and around the back of the narrow end and then returning to the right region.

3.  Cross wide end over and around the back of the narrow end once more and then return to the right region.

Did you know that the Victoria knot is almost identical to the Four in Hand Knot?

4.  Bring the wide end across the front, around the back and up through the loop.

5.  Bring the wide end down passing it through the front of the knot and tighten.  Now hold down the narrow end of your tie with one hand while you slide the knot up to the center of your collar with the other hand.

Yes!  I think you have it. The Victoria tie knot appears as elegant as it sounds.
